According to the EPA, "it is estimated that more than 3.2 million tons of electronic waste is put in landfills each year. Around 70% of heavy metals (mercury, cadmium) in landfills is thought to come from e-waste. Plastics, such as those used in electronics casings, have a high BTU value and are incinerated in cement kilns or other combustion devices for energy recovery."
A new law has been put into effect on the way we dispose our electronics, in a number of states. Starting January 1st 2012, you will not be able to dispose electronics in the garbage. Please help our planet and have us dispose of it properly for you!
